The Ancient Greeks noticed that bees placed a substance at the entrance of their hive-city, to protect it from their enemies, and they called it propolis - meaning before the city – describing literally and precisely its defensive quality.

Propolis has kept its wise name internationally, reminding us of its properties.

Propolis is a resinous, sticky gum with colour ranging from yellow-green to brown and dark brown. The colour depends on the origin of the plant, the mixtures of beeswax and pollen but also from the time spent in the hive. The main components of propolis are resin (55%), wax (30%), essential oils (10%), pollen (5%).

Propolis tincture can be used internally to strengthen and immunize the body from viruses, colds and allergies and to maintain a strong immune system.
